work from home

Our CEO Andrew Buckman shares his best advices to make it easier and more effective to work remotely.

  • Have a shower, get dressed, put your make-up on and/or have a shave (I'm not judging) - be ready to take on your day.
  1. Use the time you would have spent commuting to organise your day and catch up on the news. Think about what you need to get done during the day and who you want to interact with.

  2. Test your microphone, camera and speakers. It's important that you can hear and be heard easily. It's also important that you can see who you are speaking to and be seen. Make sure your camera is on for all video conferences. Try and sit somewhere quiet and well lit, don't sit with your back to the window for example. Don't stress about where you are and what's in the background, we all have personal lives which we need to stretch around work. If you're this guy don't worry about it, you're not in the office and you can't control what's going on around you - we all get it!

  3. Plan to work a normal day. Start working at your normal time, take breaks, have lunch, finish at your normal time.

  4. When you've finished working for the day pack your things away and do something else. Make sure you switch off from work and have a rest. Use the time you would have spent commuting to decompress so when you're with your kids or your partner or your flatmates or your online community you're not still in work mode.
